My Story So Far…
I arrived just in time for Christmas 1970—apparently looking a bit like a wrinkled pip—so I was named Pippa-Jayne Sleeth by my “Muvver,” “Diddyman,” and my big brother Kerrin (who somehow escaped any nicknames!).
As a child, I was always happiest outdoors: picking flowers, making mud pies, and concocting rose petal “perfume,” now creating “Natural Roll-on Perfumes.”That early curiosity soon evolved into experimenting with a chemistry set alongside my friend Nik. Looking back, it feels like the seeds were already being planted for what I do today.
My first real step into the world of beauty came with a Saturday job at the much-loved Swindon department store, McIlroys, working in the Perfume & Cosmetics department. I was hooked.
School exams came and went—some passed, some not—but I carved out a career in retail, working my way through stock control, merchandising, and buying roles. Then one evening, on a bit of a whim, I signed up for a beauty therapy class… and that decision changed everything.
Fast forward 30 years, and I’m still running a successful mobile beauty business—now alongside my retired husband (I give lots of jobs to) and two wonderful children- Madi and Fletcher.
So where does Pip Natural Blends come in? That began as a lockdown project, just after I turned 50. With both children studying at home, I found myself diving deeper into my passion for natural skincare—focusing on simple, effective products with minimal, recyclable or refillable packaging. I decided to go for it.
Within two years, I had studied, qualified, and become fully insured, and my product range has been growing ever since. Starting with my 3-in-1 Natural Moisturiser with orange blossom and Vitamin Boost Face Serum.
Today, I love meeting customers at markets, creating bespoke skincare for my beauty clients, and—thanks to a little help from my son—developing my website.
Oh, and I mustn’t forget the workshops! Somehow, perfumery and aromatherapy sessions became part of the journey too. I now regularly host events across Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Berkshire, and Oxfordshire, guiding attendees through essential oils, fragrance notes, and their therapeutic benefits. It’s something I truly love sharing.
So that’s me—so far, Growing Pip Natural Blends with new products each year- Whipped Body Butters and Soap Infused Sponges in 2025, my beauty business with the support of many loyal clients, and enjoying every moment at craft fairs, workshops, and pamper parties.
And this is just the beginning…
